The Woods is a 28,000 sq. ft. 40 bed Alzheimer and Assisted Living facility located in Griffin, Georgia. Martin Rule & Associates Architects designed the 8,000 sq. ft. addition consisting of an Assisting Living unit and an Alzheimer unit. The 6 patients’ rooms on the Alzheimer wing addition are designed around a central activities area with natural lighting provided by a feature six sided cupola. A kitchen, laundry room and a nurse’s station were also provided for the safety and convenience of the patients. The Assisted Living addition included 8 bedrooms, sun porches and outdoor gardening areas. The renovation included upgrading the mechanical services, a warm color pallet, updated finishes and many personal touches by the owner.
